Baobab multiplied its points of sale 15 times with Software Group's digital channel solutions
Baobab is a leading financial institution focusing on financial inclusion in Africa and China. The company offers financial services to people in emerging segments, particularly the unbanked, with a focus on financing Micro, Small and Medium-sized enterprises.
The company had a single core banking system with limited functionalities. With the identified need for IT transformation, Baobab’s main objectives were to create a new banking experience for people, provide better access to services as well as expand their customer base both in new and previously covered regions.
To meet these objectives, in 2013 Baobab commenced their IT transformation program and introduced several new alternative delivery channel solutions. Following a rigorous selection process, Baobab chose Software Group among several other vendors, to be their long-term transformation partner.
Software Group has a deep understanding and a great deal of experience in our industry (which is very specific - inclusive finance), particularly in Africa. For us it is very important that we managed to build a stronger partnership than the usual software vendor – customer relationship.
