KAYA Payment Platform, powered by Software Group, gets WOCCU Digital Growth Award

The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has awarded the 2021 Digital Growth Awards to the KAYA Payment Platform. The KAYA Payment Platform, powered by Software Group, is a shared SaaS cloud-based service with an easy-to-use wallet and ATM network, which enables credit unions to expand the range of financial services available to members. The initiative is a partnership between the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives (PFCCO), and the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU), revolutionizing the credit union sector in the region.

With today’s rising demand for digital service channels and local payments ecosystem interoperability for convenience and to alleviate health and safety concerns, digital transformation is necessary for the credit union's sustainability and resilience.

To recognize the digital initiatives of member credit union associations and their individual member credit unions, WOCCU established its Digital Growth Award in 2021.

“The main motivation of the NATCCO network and PFCCO in adopting Kaya is to make sure that the cooperatives become the place where all the financial services for the members will be done. We want members of the cooperatives to have access to all types of financial services,” said Sylvia Paraguya, CEO of NATCCO.

The KAYA platform is an effective and easy-to-use solution that offers a mobile account, send or receive money, pay bills, top up mobile talk time, and a card for performing transactions at any ATM in the country. While KAYA Payment Platform offers digital financial services as an emerging FinTech, it has the advantage of a well-known, established footprint of its member cooperatives as service outlets, merchants, and even utility providers. More than that, the KAYA embodies the cooperative values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity.
