Fidelity Bank is a Tier 1 bank in Ghana, which laid the foundation of the inclusive finance in the country. The market wide branch-led universal banking model had a very high cost to serve, limiting rapid expansion into unreached communities. This is one of the reasons agency banking became a key channel in the bank’s strategy.

2. The Agency Banking Journey of Unaitas

Unaitas is a deposit taking Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) organization in Kenya, licensed under the SACCO Societies Act, 2012. Their mission is to transform lives through the provision of socio-economic solutions. Unaitas' agency banking project was initiated in 2017 and fully implemented in 2018. Currently, Unaitas has over 600 agents, strategically located in 11 counties across Kenya.
