Software Group’s client AB Bank Zambia awarded the EIB Innovation Award

AB Bank Zambia, a member of the Access Microfinance Holding AG and a client of Software Group, was awarded the prestigious innovation prize for Small Medium and Micro Enterprise and Agricultural Finance by the European Investment Bank. This recognition was received during an official ceremony of the EIB Southern Africa SME & Microfinance Academy, held last month in Stellenbosh, South Africa. 

AB Bank Zambia was recognized for implementing several technology projects during 2019, which resulted in bringing innovations into their work and delivering outstanding financial and non-financial services to their customers. The institution significantly contributed to financial inclusion and improving the overall access to financial services in the country. One of the distinguished initiatives led by the bank in a partnership with Software Group is the implementation of a new digital banking platform. It is accessible via USSD and an app that features self-onboarding, money transfers, bill payments, airtime top-ups, and a range of additional services for business owners.
